POSITION: Full Time Program Associate (Peace building and Conflict Management)
REPORTS TO: Program Director
OVERALL RESPOSIBILITY: Full Program cycle management of GRG conflict and peace building projects in Palabek Refugee settlement camp, Lamwo district.

Grassroots Reconciliation Group (GRG) was initiated as part of the Northern Uganda Peace Initiative (NUPI), a USAID-funded program with the objective to reconcile and rehabilitate former combatants of the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) and their communities of return in Northern Uganda. Registered as a non-profit NGO in March 2007, GRG implements its projects in the most remote, war-torn and hard to reach areas in the Northern districts of (Nwoya, Gulu, Amuru and Lamwo), reaching over 4,381 beneficiaries in a group approach. Through its Vision to rebuild trust, hope and resilience among communities most affected by civil wars, GRG is now set to offer Psycho-social, livelihoods and peace building activities in Palabek refugee settlement camp, Lamwo district.

Key tasks includes but not limited to,
Develop detailed activity work plans, including descriptions and timetables and manage the implementation of these activities so as to ensure proper and timely execution to the required standards and guidelines of refugee operation.
In liaison with the Program Director, participate in and contribute to monthly, quarterly and other scheduled program performance review meetings organized by UNHCR and OPM
Participate actively in documentation of success stories, lessons learnt during program implementation and blog writing for information sharing
Prepare monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, annual and final program narrative reports
Contribute to the development of GRG Fund-raising strategy, annual fundraising plan and proposal writing to support program activities
Develop training manuals and provide training to Peace Agents on conflict resolution, mediation and dialogue among persons of concern
Carry out all procurement and Finance accountability in line with the GRG guidelines
Any other duty assigned by the Program Director for the organization

Academic qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies, or any other related field. A Post graduate degree will be an added advantage.

Relevant Experience
At least 3 years’ relevant work experience in peace building and conflict management and previous experience in refugee operation is a plus. Counselling experience is a plus but not a must

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and report writing skills.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Demonstrated ability to work as a team player in a multi-disciplinary team setting.
• Result-oriented.
