A warm welcome to our new Program Director

Posted in News

On July 1, Dutch native Kitty Paulus joined GRG as our new Program Director (Head of Mission) in Gulu.  We will greatly miss our previous Program Director Chris Maclay, but are pleased to welcome someone with a wealth of experience such as Kitty.

Kitty Paulus joins GRG with a diverse background; she has managed refugee camps, done conflict resolution work, worked in the private sector, and worked with refugee and host communities on the border between Sudan and South Sudan. Before that, she worked in one of Burma/Myanmar’s post-conflict areas, supporting rehabilitation programs and developing returnees programs. After obtaining a MA in International Business with a study period on Development Studies at Stellenbosch University in South Africa, she started her career in the private sector, amongst others advising oil companies with project set-up in Kazakhstan. Besides her professional career, Kitty has always supported and initiated community projects varying from setting-up after-school programs for orphans, managing cultural activities in townships to committee membership to improve the inclusiveness of minority groups.
