Meet Anna – our new International Fellow!

Posted in News

A huge congratulations and welcome to Anna Squier, our new International Fellow, based in Gulu. She has already started work in Gulu and comes to us with a strong background in working with underserved youth on peace-building.

Anna recently completed an MA in Human Security and Peacebuilding from Royal Roads University, conducting research on the Gacaca Courts reconciliation process in Rwanda and on the reintegration of returnees in Northern Uganda. During her time in Rwanda, Anna worked with Never Again Rwanda, a youth empowerment organization, developing a peace facilitation handbook, providing training in peer-to-peer conflict reconciliation practice. Previously, Anna worked closely with youth at risk, as program coordinator of Salt Spring Community Justice a restorative justice program and as a member of the board of directors of Vancouver Island Regional Restorative Justice Association. You can reach Anna at anna at

We would also like to congratulate all applicants to the Fellowship position. We had over 280 applications this year, more than double our pool from previous years. We had so many talented applicants, which made our final decisions very difficult. Congratulations to Anna and all of our finalists.
